FESTIVAL PENTICTON 2010 : What an exciting
event! Art shows, nature events, paintouts! It was a busy
and fun time! Angie's events kicked off
with a nature walk on Friday morning at the Vaseux Lake Nature
Sanctuary lead by naturalist Anthea Bryan. After learning about
endangered Antelopebrush, and local Sage and hearing some lovely Canyon
Wrens and looking at some old pictographs the group
went and painted in watercolours at the south end of Vaseux Lake.
On Friday night was the exciting Meadowlark Art show opening featuring
Angie and Murray Roed's work. On Saturday morning, Angie
and Murray Roed
led a plein-air
out for artists, photographers and musicians, one
of the many wonderful workshops at the Meadowlark
Festival organized by
OSCA in the South Okanagan
and held annually on the May long weekend. Saturday was the fun
banquet featuring music by talented musicians and wonderful healthy food
purveyors and organizers of Localmotive.ca
led by Thomas and Celina Thumbach. A lucky resident from
summerland won the Meadowlark painting which Angie created
and was used for all of the festival graphics in 2010. On Sunday
morning the McIntosh family was delighted to join Dr. Murray
Roed, PHD, Angie's co-artist and and workshop leader, as he lead a
lovely group of folks on an interesting geological tour of the
Okanagan. Fortunately the tired group was able to find a
big GREEN (ecologically friendly) COMFY COUCH to relax on as they
learned about the exhausting
details of ancient glacial Lake Oliver. However there was almost an
ecolgical emergency near the end when ancient fossilized T.Rex
attempted to eat Dr Rob McIntosh (Angie's husband) for lunch.
Luckily the group saved the day and the OSCA board narrowly averted
tradgedy as Rob was safely returned home at the end of another

retreat. Read about the first Bear
Festival in 2007. Coming soon will be a post of our painting there in

artist friends who would visit and paint moved her and so she is trying
to create a similar environment right here in northern BC. Click here to
