Lynne Marand has pursued her interest in art since her teenage years.  Every opportunity to paint or to draw has been taken by Lynne from doing portraits at the church fair to  making greeting cards.

More time to develop painting skills became available when Lynne moved to Penticton in 1990.  Since that time she has taken courses of instruction from the Okanagan Summer School of the Arts and Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) Rick McDermid, Donna Baspali, Tom Huntley, Robert Genn, David Goatly, Denis Webber and Kindrie Groves.

Lynne’s paintings have hung in galleries in Whitehorse, Osoyoos, and Penticton in various group showings of the Penticton Art Group, Brushstrokes and the FCA.  Her work hangs as well in private collections across Western Canada and Ontario to London, England.  Two of three panels of a triptych were on the cover of the 2003 Penticton City Map and Tourist booklet.  Some of Lynne’s paintings can be seen at RBC Investments Penticton, Athena Framing Kelowna, at her home in Penticton and on her business website.

Lynne works mainly in acrylics enjoying the rich colours and diversity of the medium.  Other media used by Lynne include water colour, graphite and pen & ink. Subjects of interest to her include landscapes, florals and portraiture of both people and pets.

Lynne has been leading an art group at the South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society since 2004 and has taught art classes at the Home School and Ecole Entre Lacs in Penticton.
